KUWAIT CITY, April 30: Director of Family Welfare Department at the Ministry of Social Affairs Hayat Al-Failakawi revealed that the administration has formed a working group from all 27 units of the department and assigned across all parts of Kuwait since the first day of the coronavirus outbreak to ensure that all transactions are completed without delay, reports Al-Anba daily.

She issued this statement during a field tour of the headquarters of the administration in Ishbiliya Unit and the Family Welfare Unit covering each of Firdous, Ardiya and Sulaibikhat to follow up on the work in light of the exceptional circumstances Kuwait is going through.

Truth be told, those working in the units seems to be operating in a beehive and racing against time to complete the transactions.

Al-Failakawi revealed that work is underway to disburse social aid to those entitled to it, in the event of completion. She confirmed that work is ongoing over the establishment of a special link within the administration’s website to receive new requests due for assistance, as it’ll be ready in the near future. She explained that new requests will be evaluated through the website, in addition to the follow up of requests by researchers and auditors “online” and sent via SMS to the requester.

She pointed out that Family Welfare Department immediately formed a working team from the main administration and its 27 units in all governorates of the State of Kuwait, and the central administration started its work in Ishbiliya Social Units.

Achievements of the work teams

As for the most important things the teams did for government agencies during the holiday period, she indicated those entitled to aid for the month of March 2020 reached 41,436 beneficiaries and that KD 210,854,62 was spent for that purpose. The administration and its units renewed and entered 2,695 files in the system, so the month of April 2020 could be paid after ensuring their eligibility through the official authorities via the family welfare automation system.

She pointed out that the files of Public Authority for Minor Affairs were searched and renewed, with aid transferred to 644 files, as the cost of aid disbursed to this category in the current month of April was KD 248,820.970.

Al-Falakawi indicated a number of suspended files whose owners continue to communicate with the official websites of the ministry have been lifted, and files opened for new cases that meet the requirements after submitting applications through the official website of the ministry, saying assistance will be given to them in April. She pointed out that the list of names of beneficiaries due for clothing allowance have been collated and sums transferred to them, whereby 2,979 individuals will receive a total sum of KD 203,750.

He stressed that entitlements are being entered for the remaining beneficiaries and aid for 41,632 beneficiaries loaded from the files to which an amount of KD 213,100,4701 has been set aside in preparation for disbursement in time. She added that work is underway to discuss 2,766 files that need to be updated in May to enter them into the system and then renew the deadline after confirming their entitlement by connecting with official authorities on the family welfare automation system.

Al-Failakawi thanked all employees of the administration for their distinguished efforts in these exceptional circumstances, wishing the safety of all employees.
