Regulatory authorities refuse to okay tender of Kabad health center project

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 10: The regulatory authorities have refused to approve the tender for the construction, development and maintenance of Kabd Health Center project due to inconsistency of the tender documents with the articles of the tender Law No. 49/2016, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting reliable sources from the Ministry of Health.
They explained that the ministry attaches great importance to health care centers, as it is the first line of defense for its system. It also relieves the pressure faced by public hospitals and their emergency departments.
Work was scheduled from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm every day in Kabd Healthcare Center, instead of opening its doors only during the weekends – Friday and Saturday.
The COVID-19 crisis and its repercussions hindered the opening of the center’s doors throughout the week, especially with the transfer of medical and nursing staff between health facilities and quarantine centers during the crisis.
The current building of the center is not subject to expansion due to its limited space, as it comprises a set of rooms in a building that used to belong to the Public Authority For Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources and was later transformed into a health center.
The sources stressed that livestock breeders, their families and relatives are present during the official holidays and even during the COVID-19 crisis, in addition to about 20,000 workers residing in a total of 11,000 livestock pens and plots.
They affirmed the keenness of the Ministry of Health to provide proper healthcare services for all citizens and expatriates.
In another context, the sources affirmed that the ministry will soon complete the rehabilitation and restoration of Naseem Healthcare Center, adding that it will include clinics for general medicine, diabetes, maternity, and dentistry, as well as a pharmacy and other facilities.
They revealed that the center is likely to be opened next December at the latest.
