Contracts cancelled:

Acting Undersecretary and Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Development and Activities at the Ministry of Education Faisal Al-Maqsid has confirmed the cancellation of contracts for the supply of meals and bus services in schools due to the adoption of the distance education mechanism and in compliance with the recommendations of the health authorities, reports Al-Jarida daily.

While presiding over the recently concluded meeting of the Planning and Follow-up Committee for the new academic year in the presence of assistant undersecretaries of various sectors in the ministry, Al-Maqsid affirmed these contracts were cancelled after the issuance of the ministerial decision on distance education for the first semester of academic year 2020/2021; as well as the directive of the Health Ministry regarding single transportation for students, not buses.

A well-known female photographer was tied, beaten and tortured inside her home in the suburb of Zahra’a by two unknown expatriates, reports Al-Rai daily.

A security source said the expatriates then stole the photographer’s car and cellphones.

The men entered her house claiming to be home delivery ‘boys’ working for a restaurant.

The photographer has been admitted to the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital. Police are looking for the thieves.
