Malaysia study destination again
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 19: Malaysia has become a study destination for Kuwaitis once again, as Director General of National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Education Dr Hamad Al-Adwani announced the accreditation of four Malaysian universities for undergraduate and postgraduate courses for Kuwaiti students after the three-year suspension, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Speaking to the daily, Al-Adwani confirmed the accreditation of the following universities: Malaya, Putra Malaysia, Kibansgan and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He disclosed a ministerial decision in this regard was issued after applying the authority’s standards to Malaysian universities.
The enrollment of Kuwaiti students in Malaysian universities was temporarily suspended in 2017 to ensure the quality of education. The authority and the Ministry of Higher Education at the time were keen on assuring the quality of universities in which Kuwaiti students were enrolled. The number of universities accredited before the suspension was 17, and was recently reduced to only four universities which have the highest international ranking among Malaysian universities.
The Palestinian community recently launched a blood donation campaign open to all residents based on their belief in the need to return a part of favors that Kuwait granted to all residents in the country, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Dozens of Arabs, Asians and citizens participated in the campaign, which was carried out in cooperation with the Blood Bank.
Official spokesman of the campaign Ashraf Ramadan disclosed this is the second campaign, following the success of a similar event organized in March. He affirmed “the number of participants in the recent campaign is the biggest so far, not to mention the participation of various nationalities and the remarkable presence of women.”
He pointed out “Kuwait deserves a lot considering its firm stances on the Palestinian cause. The participation of members of the Palestinian community and other communities is a message of support for the position of the country of humanity and the good it offers to the world.”
