‘KPC has to­tal of 1,538 va­can­cies dur­ing 2020/21 fis­cal year’

20,700 em­ploy­ees cur­rently oc­cupy jobs in oil sec­tor

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 19: Kuwait Petroleum Cor­po­ra­tion (KPC) has a to­tal of 1,538 va­can­cies dur­ing the 2020/2021 fis­cal year as part of the bud­get that was ap­proved last week by the Par­lia­ment’s Bud­gets and Fi­nal Ac­count Com­mit­tee, re­ports AlAnba daily quot­ing re­li­able sources from the oil sec­tor.

They ex­plained that the num­ber of em­ploy­ees reg­is­tered in the bud­get of KPC and its sub­sidiaries for the new fis­cal year is es­ti­mated at 22,300. This is an in­crease of 0.5 per­cent com­pared to what was es­ti­mated in the pre­vi­ous fis­cal year.

A to­tal of 20,700 em­ploy­ees cur­rently oc­cupy jobs in the oil sec­tor. Kuwait Oil Com­pany has the largest share of oc­cu­pied jobs with about 11,500 em­ploy­ees. The com­pany has 214 va­can­cies and will cre­ate 417 new jobs, bring­ing the to­tal work­force of the com­pany to 12,180 em­ploy­ees.

As for the Kuwait Na­tional Petroleum Com­pany (KNPC), it has 6,300 oc­cu­pied po­si­tions and 710 va­can­cies. From this, 205 po­si­tions will be can­celed, thereby bring­ing the to­tal work­force in the com­pany to 6,800.

In the Petro­chem­i­cal In­dus­tries Com­pany (PIC), the num­ber of po­si­tions that are oc­cu­pied is 337, and the num­ber of va­can­cies 228. The com­pany will can­cel 140 po­si­tions this year, which will bring the to­tal work­force to 425.

The Kuwait Oil Tankers Com­pany (KOTC) has 651 oc­cu­pied po­si­tions and 85 va­can­cies. The com­pany in­tends to can­cel 20 po­si­tions, which will bring the to­tal work­force to 716.

The main of­fice of KPC has 688 po­si­tions that are cur­rently oc­cu­pied and 170 va­can­cies. It in­tends to abol­ish 25 po­si­tions, such that the to­tal work­force will be 833.

As for the Kuwait In­te­grated Petroleum In­dus­tries Com­pany (KIPIC), it has 1,170 oc­cu­pied po­si­tions and 132 va­can­cies. The com­pany will pro­vide 81 new jobs, thereby bring­ing its to­tal work­force to 1,380 em­ploy­ees.
