RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s confirmed coronaviru­s cases climbed by 576 as related deaths rose by 31 over the past day, the health ministry said on Friday.

The death toll now stands at 4,430 as confirmed cases hit 328,720, according to ministry data, which showed the number of recoveries having risen by 1,145 to 308,352. (KUNA) ❑❑❑ The United Arab Emirates said on Saturday coronaviru­s cases increased by 809 to 84,242.

One fatality was registered as the death toll rose to 404, state news agency, WAM, quoted health authoritie­s as saying.

Meanwhile, some 722 people were cured from the virus, raising the total recoveries to 73,512. (KUNA)

❑❑❑ Qatar’s health ministry said its coronaviru­s case tally on Saturday reached 123,146 after 229 people were confirmed as testing positive in the last day.

The number of recoveries in the Gulf state stands at 120,089 after 267 more people were cured, according to a ministry statement. (KUNA)

Bahrain said on Saturday daily confirmed coronaviru­s cases rose by 690.

Some 613 new recoveries were also reported for a total of 56,700, as compared to 6,958 currently active cases, according to a health ministry statement. (KUNA) ❑❑❑

Iraq’s coronaviru­s deaths increased by 83 as the confirmed cases rose by 3,907, the health ministry said on Saturday.

This brings the caseload across all provinces, including Kurdistan, to 315,597 and the death toll to 8,491.

On the other hand, a total 249,539 people have been cured of the virus according to official figures. (KUNA)

The Egyptian Ministry of Health said Friday that 131 people tested positive for the novel Coronaviru­s (Covid-19), while 18 others died due to the viral illness over the past 24 hours.

The latest figures took the overall infections up to 101,772 and the death toll to 5,733, the ministry’s spokesman Dr. Khaled Mujahed said in a press statement.

The number of treated virus patients edged up by 800 to 87,958, he added. (KUNA)

Palestinia­n health authoritie­s said on Saturday confirmed daily coronaviru­s cases increased by 726.

This brings the caseload across the Palestinia­n territorie­s to 44,763 as the virus-induced death toll increased by eight to 291, the health ministry said in a statement. (KUNA)
