KUWAIT CITY, Sept 22: In order to keep pace with development and modernization of the security system, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has armed the public security sector with 728 advanced digital cameras in addition to the already 777 digital cameras that have been installed by the MoI to monitor how its affiliates deal with reports and to document what exactly happens between the security forces and the violators around the clock, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily added, these cameras are equipped with audio and video features to record conversations. The ministry explained the total number of advanced digital cameras has reached 1,505 and are in used throughout the country, especially since the entry of these cameras into service is considered a leading technological shift in security work.

Teachers

sacked: The Ministry of Education terminated two Kuwaiti teachers, who have been in service for about 16 years, based on a letter from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) which recommended the termination of these teachers, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources from the educational sector.

Sources told the daily that the two teachers completed their studies outside the country in 2004. When they returned to the country, the Ministry of Higher Education accredited their certificates; hence, they were hired as teachers, sources added.

Sources disclosed the ministry was surprised upon receiving the CSC’s letter recommending the termination of the teachers after all these years of employment on grounds that their appointment was illegal. Sources said the ministry immediately implemented the recommendation of the commission, prompting the two teachers to file a case and demand for their employment rights. ❑ ❑ ❑

Saved in nick of time:

Timely arrival of the Farwaniya police spared the life of a Kuwaiti woman who was about to die at the hands of her husband, reports AlAnba daily.

According to a security source, when the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received a distress call from the woman who said she is calling from Farwaniya and gave police the address, police rushed to the spot and found the husband who was in abnormal condition.

He was standing in front of the door with a cleaver in hand; disarmed him and handcuffed him and took him to the police station. The woman had apparently locked herself in and helped the children escape from the ground floor window of the house.

Foul play suspected:

The remains of a young man who allegedly died in his bed in his home, have been referred to Forensics to identify the cause of death, reports AlAnba daily. When the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received a report on the incident police and paramedics rushed to the spot and the first impression they got is that the man did not die of natural causes, but suspected foul play.
