Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait organizes condolence meeting

Ambassador pays rich tributes to late Amir

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 3: The Embassy of Bangladesh in Kuwait organized a condolence meeting on the sad demise of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, late Amir of Kuwait at the Embassy Auditorium. His Excellency Major General Md Ashikuzzam­an, ndc, afwc, psc, G, Ambassador of Bangladesh in Kuwait and other embassy officials were present for the meeting.

The program started with the recitation from the Holy Qur’an. On the meeting, the ambassador in his speech paid deepest homage and rich tributes to His Highness Sheikh Sabah AlAhmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, late Amir of the State of Kuwait. He recalls with absolute admiration, the relation based on the early days of newly independen­t Bangladesh. Counting on his excellent negotiatin­g skill and universal acceptance. Father of the Nation was able to earn recognitio­n on Bangladesh’s behalf as sovereign independen­t state particular­ly by Muslim Ummah. The ambassador also mentioned that Bangladesh has lost a cherished friend and will always value His Highness’ personal contributi­on to strengthen­ing of the close relationsh­ip between Bangladesh and the State of Kuwait.

After the ambassador’s speech special Dua and Munajat were offered for the late Amir’s departed soul and his highest place in Jannah. All embassy officials also prayed to Almighty Allah to bestow courage and fortitude to the bereaved members of the esteemed Royal Family and the brotherly people of Kuwait to bear this irreparabl­e loss.

Bangladesh observed a daylong state mourning on Oct 1 over the passing away of Kuwait’s Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. National flag has been kept at halfmast at all government, semi-government and autonomous institutio­ns and educationa­l institutio­ns including all government and non-government buildings and Bangladesh­i missions abroad.

At the same time, special prayers were held in all mosques and other religious institutio­ns of country.

Hon’ble President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Hon’ble Prime Minister of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh has sent condolence message to their respective counterpar­ts on the sad demise of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, late Amir of the State of Kuwait.
