To mouthpieces: Levant is for its people ... regardless

FOR how long will the Arabs let Syria continue to be an Iranian-Turkish project which uses it as a tool while the blood of its people is being shed for the sake of the political games of Ankara and Tehran in the global arena?

Didn’t the influential Arab countries learn from the fact that the apostasy wars that were fought against Syria did not lead to any results, but rather helped increase Iranian influence?

Furthermore, the terrorist “Hezbollah” committed massacres against the Syrians, and lured Israel to attack it and make room for Turkey to cut a piece of land in an effort to build a canton through which it would control the Arab balance, and use Syrian mercenaries in its wars in Libya, Azerbaijan, and other conflict areas, including mobilization at the Greek borders.

Isn’t it rational to assume that there will come a time when these two countries may use these mercenaries against Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Egypt, and destroy them like the way Tehran and Ankara ruined Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen? Or is it that whatever is in the souls – and I focus on the souls – of the leaders of these countries concerning the president of the Syrian regime greater than the national and vital interests that would benefit all Arabs?

It is regrettable that the Arab countries, especially the Gulf states, have not studied the changes that Syria witnessed during the past ten years, and are not yet convinced that overthrowing the regime has become much more difficult, especially after claiming that it will fall within two or three months, which was a lost bet.

That is why the countries that sparked or spearheaded the war have stopped supporting the armed and opposition factions, and may be on the verge of restoring relations with the regime, especially after becoming certain that they are not able to bring down the regime and achieve their goals from that.

There are currently about seven million displaced people in Syria and five million displaced refugees in the vast countries of God. If we are not in the process of talking about who caused this, then we must admit that many of these people worked to establish productive and profitable projects. They did not turn into a burden on those countries, but rather became valuable to them at a time when they could have added value to their own country.

At the beginning of the Syrian war, hundreds of armed factions were formed. At one stage, they reached about 1,200 factions, fronts and movements, all of which declared their right to assume power, but instead worked on sharing loot, killing and destroying, while controlling the Syrians. To this day, they have not agreed on a single position.

The Syrian people have not appointed guardians from outside. They alone have the right to choose the one who will govern them and can rebuild their country. However, if it remains subject to Iranian-Turkish exploitation, if the Arabs abandon it, and while the Arab League remains distracted from the issue of Syria’s return, this means acknowledging the hegemony of Iran and Turkey. Consequently, the statements of protest and condemnation will not be beneficial. This is because experiences have shown that they neither advance nor delay, and they do not express the correctness of positions. I am certain that hatred and personal moods can neither build states nor make progress.

The Arab countries will be mistaken if they do not take advantage of this opportunity and restore their diplomatic relations with Damascus. In fact, they must make it more active than what it was in the past, because it is through this road that the Iranian and Turkish sabotage can be cut off. This is due to the fact that the ultimate goal of these two countries is not Syria, but Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait, and even all Arab countries.

A fact that must be highlighted is that the Sultanate of Oman, which sent its ambassador to the Syrian capital, and the United Arab Emirates, which opened its embassy in Damascus, did not sever ties with it, because they realized that this anomaly will negatively affect the Arabs in the future.

It remains to say that there is a Gulf proverb – “Levant (Al-Sham) is thou shalt when time constrains you”, so an intelligent person understands with the sign.
