KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: The technical committee of the Municipal Council has approved the proposal to issue licenses for home gardens. However, it refused to discuss proposals concerning convenience stores, mobile grocery stories, mobile cars, and places to allocate them in Kuwait Municipality, reports Aljarida daily.

During its recent meeting, the committee, headed by Dr Ali bin Sayer, agreed to the proposal submitted for amending a number of decisions of the Municipal Council concerning consumer cooperative societies.

It rejected a letter concerning implementation of a regulation related to the chimneys used in private houses.

In a press statement issued after the meeting, Bin Sayer explained that the committee approved the request of the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) to license various activities for the Kuwait Farmers Union Center in Abdali and Wafra areas.

It also approved the proposal submitted regarding licensing centers for people with disabilities in investment buildings.

The committee referred the application submitted for licensing health clubs within the residential areas to the executive body to review the technical opinion.

Bin Sayer stated that the committee referred to the

Reform and Development Committee of the Municipal Council the letter submitted by the Real Estate Union that sought approval for giving the right of management and maintenance to the private sector during the investment period for multi-storey car parks in various parts of Kuwait, and stimulating the private sector to build multistoried parking lots in partnership with the state.

He said the committee reviewed the inquiries presented about parking lots and smart parking, and it referred to the executive body the draft report requesting the Public Authority for Industry to approve the organizational chart for site No. 20 in Mina Abdullah.
