Army chief to quit: Intersecti­on closed:

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Acting Minister of Defense Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Al-Nasser has issued a ministeria­l decision to refer the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lt Gen Muhammad Al-Khidr, to retirement upon his request, while at the same time promoting him to the rank of First Lieutenant-General, effective October 1, 2020, reports Al-Rai daily.

Meanwhile, the General Assembly of the First Instance Court held its meeting headed by Counselor Dr Adel Buresli to distribute the work of the court’s advisors, prosecutor­s and judges during the judicial year 20202021, which ended with the issuance of decisions to establish various circles in various governorat­es, reports Al-Anba daily.

The Assembly authorized the president of the court to take what is legally necessary to establish and form tripartite circles or more (morning or evening) to look into crimes committed in violation of municipal regulation­s pursuant to Article 46 of Municipal Law No. 33 of 2016, as the need arises. ❑❑❑

Ministry of Interior’s General Department for Public Relations and Security Media announced that the General Traffic

Department, with the cooperatio­n of the Public Authority for Roads and Transporta­tion (PART) and Kuwait Municipali­ty, has closed the “Darwazat Abdul-Razzaq” intersecti­on – the intersecti­on between Mubarak AlKabeer Street and Ahmad Al-Jaber Street – in Kuwait City for maintenanc­e work, reports Al-Anba daily.

In a press statement, the department urged all motorists to exercise caution, observe speed limits and traffic signs, and abide by the instructio­ns of traffic officers.
