His

legacy will remain for years and years to come. His standing on the world stage as the Amir of Humanity will never fade away. This title is not local but is international as it had been awarded by the United Nations. The father of humanity, our late Amir, had combined humanity with diplomacy... he was born with these traits.

Not only on the international arena but also locally inside Kuwait and among families, he was considered as the last resort. Everyone abided by his decision.

Words cannot express our sorrow over the loss of our Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. He was our leader with the wisdom to bring stability and tranquility in our Arabian Gulf region and the Arab world. He was behind the establishment of the Arabian Gulf league and made sure to steer it into safety and unity. He always sought greater and wider cooperation. Stability and peace are born with him. He traveled all over to bring the Arab world together, no matter how challenging the mission was.

Even when he was sick and in the USA for medical treatment, he never stopped making his usual contacts and sending his delegates to bring our brothers in GCC together. The White House trusted his judgment and wisdom, and believed in the ability of our Amir Sheikh Sabah to solve all local issues peacefully. In fact, he was the one who stopped military intervention... an action that was praised by the White House, which placed its weight and faith on our beloved Amir.

Our Amir’s life involved nonstop travel that was aimed for bringing peace among the Arab brothers and finding last-minute solutions using his magical diplomatic touch. Irrespective of whether they were times of war and peace, it did not matter. His consistency, patience and simplicity led to gaining trust in his diplomacy at the highest level.

His doors were opened to all of us. He never hesitated to receive us in person, talk to us, or miss any of his social duties. If not in person, he would at least send simple cards of greetings, flowers, or condolence notes. He was a simple and down to earth human being.

The world will miss him for sure like we do. However, we are blessed by his brother who is our new Amir His Highness Sheikh Nawaf. He was blessed and guided by his late brother in ensuring Kuwait will continue to sail on the same path and maintain diplomatic relations. It is our blood... in the blood of the nation of Kuwait.

Rest in peace our beloved Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad. He was the only head of state that all global leaders praised... they respected his even-handed policy.

Rest in peace... you will remain in our heart and minds. We are blessed by your chosen successor, your brother Sheikh Nawaf our new ruler... In the smoothest way possible, he will guide us through your wisdom, carry forward your foreign policy, pursue new friendships with the world, and ensure prosperity for the nation.
