‘Erase addict’s file’: The judiciary has ordered the undersecre­tary of Ministry of Health to erase and remove the file of a Kuwaiti citizen from the addiction treatment center following the completion of his medication and recovery process, says Al-Seyassah.

The court insisted that continuing to have his name and file in the addiction treatment center is against the citizen’s constituti­onal and legal rights.

According to the case file, Lawyer Abdul-Mohsen AlQattan, who was representi­ng the citizen, said his client was an alcoholic, and he went on his own to the addiction treatment center to seek help for getting better. After getting better and completely quitting alcohol, his client demanded his file to be expunged from the database of the center. as it hampered with his efforts to get a job in the public sector and major private companies.

❑ ❑ Custody withdrawn:

The Family Court withdrew from a man the custody of his children after being convinced that the children’s welfare was at risk because the father is a drunkard, says AlSeyassah.

Representi­ng the children’s mother was Lawyer Hawraa Al-Habeeb who presented a report from the child protection agency which proved that the father was not in a position to fulfill his legal duties towards his children due to his habit of drinking alcohol which makes him behave violently with his family, especially his children.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 7: A 42-year-old Sri Lankan hanged himself to death inside the ‘bachelors’ quarters’ in Mahboula, reports Al-Anba daily.

When the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received a report on the incident police and paramedics rushed to the spot and found the corpse dangling from a rope, with one end tied to the ceiling in his room.

Meanwhile, an unidentifi­ed Indian died on the spot while two other workers were seriously injured when a Kuwaiti driving a van ran over them when they were carrying out maintenanc­e work on the Jaber Bridge, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily did not give more details. It is not known if the Kuwaiti was arrested or he surrendere­d to the authoritie­s after the accident.

And, a cadet officer of the Saad Al-Abdullah Police Academy, identified only as S.F. Al-Salamah AlMutairi, died in a traffic accident, reports Al-Rai daily.

The victim was allegedly driving a motorbike when he was run over by a four-wheel drive.

The victim was rushed to a hospital and kept under observatio­n but he allegedly succumbed to internal injuries.

The search is on for the runaway motorist. been referred to
