Chiefs, Seahawks, Packers and Bills keep top 4 spots in Pro32

Cowboys cut 13-year vet Carr

NEW YORK, Oct 7, (AP): With nearly all NFL teams already a quarter of the way through the regular season, there are four teams off to a 4-0 start: the defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs, the Seattle Seahawks, the Green Bay Packers and the Buffalo Bills.

And those teams maintained the top four spots in the latest AP Pro32 poll.

The defending champions Chiefs received all 12 first-place votes for 384 points in balloting Tuesday by media members who regularly cover the NFL.

Glauber said of the Chiefs’ win over the New England Patriots on Monday night.

The Seahawks followed at No.

2. Their 4-0 start are the second in franchise history. The previous time was in 2013 when they won the Super Bowl.

The Packers are No. 3 and enter their bye week after dominating winless Atlanta 30-16 on Monday night.

The AFC East-leading Bills remained at No. 4 after holding off the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Baltimore Ravens (3-1) slipped from a fourth-place tie last week to No. 5.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee, who are the league’s remaining unbeaten teams at 3-0, were scheduled to play last week, but had the game moved to Oct 25 after the Titans’ COVID-19 outbreak last week. The Steelers remained at No. 6 and the Titans gained a spot to No.

7. The Titans will hope to return to the field this week as they are scheduled to host the Bills on Sunday.

The Dallas Cowboys released defensive back Brandon Carr, cutting ties with the 13-year veteran after bringing him in just before the season for depth in the secondary.

Carr, who was with the Cowboys for five of his first 12 seasons while starting all 192 of those games, rejoined the club on the practice squad. That group was expanded from 10 to 16 with all veterans eligible because of the pandemic.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end O.J. Howard will miss the remainder of the season after rupturing his right Achilles tendon.

The Bucs placed the fourth-year pro on injured reserve, the third time in Howard’s career that an injury has ended his season prematurely.

Howard, the 19th overall pick in the 2017 draft, had 11 receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns in four games, helping the Bucs to a 3-1 start. He had a 28-yard TD reception before being injured early in the fourth quarter of last week’s 38-31 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Falcons coach Dan Quinn said safety Damontae Kazee will be placed on injured reserve and miss the rest of the season with a torn Achilles tendon.

Kazee was hurt in the second quarter of Atlanta’s 30-16 loss Monday night at Green Bay. It was a non-contact injury as Kazee crumpled to the field while in coverage.

Kazee is the fifth starter ailing in the injury-depleted secondary for the Falcons (0-4), but he’s the first to go on season-ending injured reserve.
