The popular singer Khaled Al-Mulla has the strong support of his fans who have shown solidarity with their idol after the Court of Appeals upheld the verdict of a lower court and sent him behind bars for two years and ordered him to pay 1,000 dinars to suspend the sentence and also ordered him to sign a pledge of good conduct for two years, reports

The daily added, the singer was found guilty of offending the judiciary through one of his songs.

Meanwhile, within the framework of the Public Authority for Manpower’s keenness to support and monitor citizens working in the private sector, the authority discovered that a number of nationals working in local banks were terminated, reports Al-Shahid daily.

Consequent­ly, Deputy Director General for National Manpower Affairs at the authority Sultan Al Shaalani held a coordinati­on meeting with the representa­tives of some local banks at the headquarte­rs of the authority.

They discussed the factors that led to the terminatio­n of several national workers in the banking sector, ways to empower national workers in this vital sector, and alternativ­e jobs for the terminated workers.

A 14-year-old Indian drowned off Mahboula beach while swimming in the sea, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Public Relations Department of the Kuwait Fire Service Directorat­e (KFSD) said the operations room received informatio­n Friday evening and help was immediatel­y dispatched to the site.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 11: A Kuwaiti, born in 1972, has been arrested and detained at the Jaber Al-Ahmad Police Station for drinking in a public place, reports Al-Anba daily.

The arrest came after his ex-wife who lives in the divided apartment filed a complaint with the police fearing the man who lives with his new wife will force his way into her apartment under the influence of alcohol sensing the earlier incident to repeat.

Police rushed to the house and found the man under the influence of alcohol.

In another unrelated incident a Kuwaiti woman, born in 1989 filed a complaint with the Abu Futaira Police Station that her ex-husband forced his way into her rented apartment under the pretext of seeing his children.

Rescuers from the Shuaiba and Salmiya marine fire stations combed the area and, recovered the remains and handed it over to the medical emergency.

The corpse has been referred to Forensics.

Two men – a 42-year-old Bangladesh­i and a 32-year-old Kuwaiti – perished in a traffic accident on the Sixth Ring Road, opposite the shooting range, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The vehicles involved in the accident were a Municipali­ty truck and a private car.

Acting on informatio­n paramedics and police rushed to the spot and referred the corpses to Forensics.
