- KD 56,000 in fines: MoH denies rumors:

The Public Relations Department of the Kuwait Municipali­ty said Public Cleaning and Road Works of the Hawalli Governorat­e Municipali­ty branch issued 242 citations last September during field tours, reports Al-Anba daily.

The Director of the Depart-ment Muhammad Al-Jaba’a, explained the field tours of the administra­tion’s control team throughout the governorat­e’s regions during September has cleared the areas of neglected cars and waste that distorted the view and was a hazard to public hygiene.

He said that the fine for all types of violations of law No 149/2006, and law No 190/2008, concerning public cleanlines­s vehicles neglected by roadside or on government property or offered for sale is 100 dinars, while for violations of Law No 9/87 is 5 dinars.

During the campaign, Al-Jaba’a pointed out 266 warnings were issued and 202 pledges have been signed not to repeat the offence.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 13: Police have arrested an unidentifi­ed 20-year-old for consuming drugs, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily added, the arrest came after someone informed the security authoritie­s that a person was sleeping inside his vehicle opposite a fast food restaurant in the Capital Governorat­e.
