‘Unify PCR test price’:
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has instructed the airlines operating at Kuwait International Airport to unify the price for PCR tests that will be imposed on all arrivals to the country, according to the recent Cabinet decision on charging them to the airlines, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.
Sources confirmed that discussions between the concerned authorities led to an agreement on an initial price of KD 25 for one test and a total of KD 50 for two tests – first upon arrival and the other after seven days. Sources said this amount will be added to the price of the ticket for those traveling to Kuwait.
PAM seeks pay info:
An employer must provide the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) with information on the banks where the salaries of employees will be transferred after receiving the approved new number for his company’s file through the new electronic platform of the authority for the latter to automatically track the payroll, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a reliable source.
The source explained this procedure is necessary to prevent any delay in work procedures due to the absence of salary transfers carried out under the file numbers in the canceled system.
Heavy fines imposed:
Kuwait Municipality has finalized amendments to regulations on public sanitation and waste transportation; such that a fine of not less than KD2,000 and not more than KD 5,000 will be imposed on those who dump waste outside the designated dumping sites, tamper with waste and set fire to the dumping site, reports Al-Anba daily.
The Municipality added that the license will be cancelled or suspended in case of violating the regulations, indicating the waste transportation license is issued only to companies and institutions qualified by the Municipality.
Grace period ends: The grace period for exporting used batteries, aluminum and iron ended on Thursday, reports Al-Rai daily.
On Dec 1 last year, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry discussed the issue with the director of the Kuwait General Administration of Customs (KGAC) and the latter affirmed there is no objection to the export of used batteries, iron and aluminum provided it is done only until Jan 21, 2021 as per the decision issued on Oct 21, 2020 which stipulated a grace period of three months.
