Gunfire, car chase, bullet in foot leads to arrest of citizen

Man accused of stabbing Asian expat

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 24: An unidentifi­ed Kuwaiti has been admitted to the Adan Hospital under heavy guard, reports Al-Anba daily.

The man is being treated for a bullet injury in the foot and after the hospital discharges him, he will be taken to the Fahaheel Police Station and charged with attempted murder, failure to comply with the instructio­ns of the security men and attempting to escape.

The arrest of the suspect, according to security sources was not an easy affair. The security arrested him after a thrilling chase.

During the arrest the suspect attempted to stab a police officer and crashed into a police patrol and this forced securityme­n to fire in the air and when the suspect allegedly charged at police officers with a knife in hand, he was shot in the foot and wounded.

This incident forced the closure of the Fahaheel Expressway for some time in the direction of Kuwait.

According to a security source, a traffic patrol while on security round in the Jahra Industrial City, a vehicle was seen deliberate­ly colliding with a grocery store, and then a person got out of the vehicle and stabbed an Asian expatriate, got into the vehicle and drove off.

He was chased by the police patrol and ordered to pull over but he continued driving on the Fahaheel Expressway and in the event collided with the patrol which forced the closure of the road.

He was arrested after the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received a report and dispatched support.

which was left in operation, reports AlAnba daily.

The daily said the suspect after driving the car for some time abandoned it at an unidentifi­ed location.

The car was found after the woman filed a complaint with the Sulaibikha­t Police Station.

After the car was found personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department lifted fingerprin­ts. and checked the CCTV footage from cameras installed in the area and managed to arrest the man.
