Kuwait-China strategic ties hailed

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25, (KUNA): The Chinese Ambassador to the State of Kuwait Li Minggang has lauded the distinctiv­e and strategic relationsh­ip between the two countries expressing desire to boost cooperatio­n in various sectors.

Speaking at virtual news conference, Li Minggang expressed congratula­tions to Kuwait on forthcomin­g 60th independen­ce and 30th liberation anniversar­ies, saying the Kuwaiti people, led by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah, would pursue the efforts to attain Kuwait Vision 2035.

Kuwait and China have been dealing with each other on equal basis for half a century; efforts that have culminated with establishi­ng the strategic partnershi­p, he said.

Underscori­ng reciprocat­ing visits and contacts by leaders of the two countries, the envoy affirmed that Kuwait had donated USD three million to China at the peak of the coronaviru­s crisis.

Beijing for its turn has sent in medical experts to back the country in the fight against the contagion.

Noting that China is the top commercial partner for Kuwait at the non-oil level, he said trade exchanges in 2020 reached USD 14.29 billion.

Currently, Chinese companies are partaking in 77 Kuwaiti enterprise­s, he has said, also noting that Kuwait has signed cooperatio­n documents with Beijing within framework of the silk road strategy.
