‘Intruders into historic sites face penalties’
The Minister of Information on Monday warned that procedures, legal accountability and financial penalties will be “activated” against any person who may intrude into fenced historic or archeological sites without permits from competent authorities.
Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, also the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Chairperson of the National Council of Culture, Arts and Letters, cited the relics’ law, namely its sixth chapter (titled penalties) where punishment reaches up to five years for such offenses. (KUNA)
