KUWAIT CITY, April 10: Cambridge, the British Accreditation Authority, has canceled paper-based exams of the 2020/2021 academic year for high school students of the British schools in Kuwait. The school administrations officially notified their students of the decision, announcing that the paper-based exams would be replaced by other evaluation methods for the students, reports Al-Rai daily.

Some parents blamed this decision on everyone who contributed to spreading false rumors and sending inaccurate information about the health situation in the country.

The President of the Union of Foreign Schools Noura Al-Ghanem expressed her regret “about this sudden decision, the reasons of which are unknown.”

She said, “The cancellation is only for Kuwait, as the tests are ongoing in Europe and the rest of the countries according to the paperbased written pattern”.

Al-Ghanem expressed her fear of the evaluation mechanism for the students of the British schools in light of the current situation, highlighting the continuation of paper exams in American and French schools.

She revealed about the coordination with Cambridge to find out the reason for the cancellation.

It is worth mentioning that Cambridge had notified the schools in Kuwait last week that the conditions prevailing in Kuwait at the present time indicate the low probability of conducting paper-based exams in schools, due to which a decision was taken to approve the school evaluation
