Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre reopens with exciting events

KUWAIT CITY, June 13: Kuwait’s world-class museum, Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre, is pleased to announce a special virtual edition of programmes, workshops, talks and seminars as well as its annual summer camp that will be held on the premises. Designed to enthrall all age groups, the sessions will deep dive into a world of historical events and future exploratio­ns, new-age art and inventions, foundation­al literacy across different subject matters and the latest innovation­s that are shaping the nature of the world today.

The month of June will host several activities including lectures by renowned Professors who will take their viewers on a journey through time and some of the greatest scientific discoverie­s in the ‘The Management of Architectu­ral Heritage in the Mamluk Sultanate’: the rise of proto-urban studies in the Middle East with examples from Cairo and Syria to different types of ecosystems in our planet, followed by the use, significan­ce and symbolism behind the appearance of the Elephant in Arabic culture and also celebrate the 25th launch anniversar­y of NASA’s NEAR-Shoemaker spacecraft and the 2021 launch of three new asteroid missions, among others.

The sessions can be accessed via zoom applicatio­n or viewed on Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre’s Youtube channel and will continue until 30 June 2021. Participan­ts have the choice to sign up for their preferred sessions on the Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Culture Centre Website.

Delivered by the Centre’s Academy, children between the age group of 8–12 years old, can practice their creativity and engage in different and new learning experience­s at the summer camp, at Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre.

Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre is one the many projects developed by the Amiri Diwan to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and promote critical, creative, and interpreti­ve thinking within Kuwaiti society through world-class exhibition­s and educationa­l public programmes.
