KUWAIT CITY, June 14: The Assistant Undersecretary for Correctional Institutions and Sentences Enforcement Affairs Major General Talal Marafie, and the leaders of the sector opened a number of renovated entertainment and sports sites within the correctional institutions, as well as cleared the yard and equipped the sports stadiums in order to consolidate the humanitarian and community service role of the correctional institutions, and to secure the social and psychological environment inside prisons in a way that enhances the rehabilitation of inmates, reports Al-Rai daily.
In a press statement, the Director General of Public Relations and Security Media at the Ministry of Interior stated that the development process aims to offer psychological comfort to the inmates, break their daily routine, and prepare them psychologically for the return to normal life.
He affirmed the keenness of the officials of the correctional institutions sector to implement the health and preventive measures approved by the health authorities of the country in a bid to preserve the health and safety of the inmates.
