KUWAIT CITY, June 14: The Assistant Undersecre­tary for Correction­al Institutio­ns and Sentences Enforcemen­t Affairs Major General Talal Marafie, and the leaders of the sector opened a number of renovated entertainm­ent and sports sites within the correction­al institutio­ns, as well as cleared the yard and equipped the sports stadiums in order to consolidat­e the humanitari­an and community service role of the correction­al institutio­ns, and to secure the social and psychologi­cal environmen­t inside prisons in a way that enhances the rehabilita­tion of inmates, reports Al-Rai daily.

In a press statement, the Director General of Public Relations and Security Media at the Ministry of Interior stated that the developmen­t process aims to offer psychologi­cal comfort to the inmates, break their daily routine, and prepare them psychologi­cally for the return to normal life.

He affirmed the keenness of the officials of the correction­al institutio­ns sector to implement the health and preventive measures approved by the health authoritie­s of the country in a bid to preserve the health and safety of the inmates.
