Female judge presides over murder case
KUWAIT CITY, June 14: Attorney General Dhirar Al-Asousi considers the presentation of Capital Governorate prosecutor Munira Al-Waqayan regarding a murder case at the Criminal Court a continuation of the success of Kuwaiti women in society, reports Al-Anba daily.
Affirming that he believes in the role and competence of women in various fields, Al-Asousi pointed out the abovementioned presentation is the first of its kind in the history of the Kuwaiti judiciary and that of other Arab countries.
He attributed this achievement to the training course in preparing, drafting and performing oral pleadings at the Criminal Court, which was organized by Kuwaiti members of the Public Prosecution under the supervision of Attorney General Mubarak Al-Rifai.
He said a total of 23 prosecutors participated in the training course, including four female lawyers who succeeded in completing the course.
