‘Ministry spares no effort to advance quality education’
Delegation commends role of educ minister
KUWAIT CITY, June 14, (Agencies): Minister of Education, Dr. Ali Al-Mudhaf during his meeting with the delegation from the Kuwaiti Society for Quality Education, said the ministry spares no effort in applying all scientific measures and standards to advance education and ensure its quality, whether in government schools or at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), in the best interest of the nation to build generations to serve the country’s present and future, reports AlSeyassah daily.
The delegation stated in a press statement, the meeting took place in the context of its efforts during the “Corona” crisis, to ensure quality of education, and commended the role of the minister in approving and implementing “paper tests” for the Grade 12 students to achieve justice among the students, which is what the society had called for since the beginning of the crisis whether in general, applied or university education.
The society thanked the minister, “for his steadfastness in the face of challenges despite parliamentary and popular pressures, to stave off a repetition of what we witnessed from the disaster of success and illusory superiority last year in flagrant transgression of sound scientific values and principles,” and stressed that paper exams “are the first wall against fraud, with the need to take strict measures to prevent the use of electronic cheating tools, such as headphones and means of communication, and to implement the zero student cheating decision.
The delegation comprised the society president, Badr Al-Bahr, Secretary Hashem Al-Rifai, Treasurer Bashar Al-Othman, and Board Member Raad Al-Saleh.
Last week, Minister Al-Mudhaf, visited a number of high schools Grade 12 exams committees, which began
Wednesday amid health restrictions due to the spread of COVID-19.
The minister said that the total number of public and private school students who took the general secondary exams is 50,743.
The minister affirmed that education is the foundation for any country’s development, pointing out that the exams are the true measure and evaluation of students and the educational process.
Therefore, the ministry decided that the Grade 12 tests be held in schools with a commitment to achieving the utmost health precautions before, during and after conducting the exams.
He praised the efforts of the teaching and administrative staff and the entire ministry’s employees, calling on students to exert effort and study hard to achieve their goals.
On Tuesday, a total of 49,000 students from across the country at 321 secondary and middle schools answered the Grade 12 exams for the current academic year, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The science students will answer mathematics and literary exams and the religious education students the Hadith subject.
