EMS deals with 577 urgent cases

KUWAIT CITY, June 15: The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) department affiliated to the Ministry of Health dealt with 577 cases (urgent and non-urgent) including the 465 cases that were reported through the emergency phone No 112 and the hotline, as a result of bad weather conditions and the dust storm that swept the country.

Director of the EMS department Munther Al-Jalahma, told the Al-Seyassah that the department received 577 calls and pointed out that the emergency medical personnel transferre­d 295 sick people to government hospitals in their respective areas.

Al-Jalahma pointed out most of the cases were of people who complained of breathing problems and road accidents due to poor visibility, people suffering from asthma and other respirator­y diseases. The EMS said 130 cases were treated on site by the EMS personnel. Speaking of the non-urgent cases, Al-Jalahma said the EMS technician­s dealt with 152 cases, including 66 transfer cases and 86 pregnancy cases, bringing the total cases that the administra­tion dealt with on that day to 577 cases.
