A 45-year-old Indian died in a traffic accident on the Sixth Ring Road opposite Saad Al-Abdullah area.
According to security sources the man was trapped under the overturned vehicle and acting on information paramedics and police rushed to the spot but could not do anything until firemen rushed to the spot and freed the corpse from the car wreck.
The remains of the victim have been referred to Forensics.
Meanwhile, a fire in Khaitan in front of an Arab house destroyed six vehicles and partly damaged a restaurant and part of a grocery store, reports AlQabas daily.
Acting on information firemen from the Farwaniya fire center rushed to the spot and put out the fire without causing any injuries.
An extensive investigation has been opened to uncover the cause fire. Arson has not been ruled out.
KUWAIT CITY, June 16: The Co-operative Sector in the Ministry of Social Affairs has finally referred the lease contracts of some establishments in cooperative societies to Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), reports Al-Jarida daily quoting sources from the ministry.
Speaking to the daily, sources revealed the total value of the contracts of some establishments like car garages and car repair shops exceeded KD 1 million with monthly rent ranging from KD 5,000 to KD 8,000.
Sources explained the ministry took this step to ensure strict compliance with legal frameworks, such that these establishments do not deviate from the activities they have been licensed for and to investigate them regarding the alleged money laundering in their activities.

Sources said Nazaha contacted the ministry to inquire about the investment contract of a car garage affiliated to a cooperative society in Hawally Governorate valued at KD 850,000.
In line with the principle of transparency, the ministry decided to ask Nazaha to review the contracts of some garages in the branches of cooperative societies with a total value of more than KD 1 million in a bid to ensure they have not committed any violation, sources added.
According to sources, more than 6,650 establishments are currently operating in 72 co-operatives and the ministry is keen on monitoring them to make sure that the investors are doing their business in line with the law.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior said that the number of residency transactions that have been completed since the launch of the online service through the ministry’s website has reached 2,910,133 transactions.
The General Department of Relations and Security Media at the Ministry of Interior stated in a press statement on Wednesday that the total number of statistics received and completed by the appointment platform to complete transactions is 1,120,553 transactions and it confirmed that it will continue to receive auditors wishing to terminate their services electronically through the website of the Ministry of Interior, calling on citizens and residents to communicate via the following e-mail of the General Administration of Information Systems (infogdis@moi. gov.kw) for any inquiries. The statement indicated that the completion of the auditors’ transactions through the online service comes due to the current conditions that the country is going through in the face of the spread of COVID-19, and in application of health requirements in the interest of the health of citizens and residents within the efforts made by the security institution to develop its service sectors.
