‘Kuwait-UK ties strong’:


Minister of Interior Sheikh Thamer Ali Sabah AlSalem Al-Sabah held talks on Wednesday with the United Kingdom Ambassador to the State of Kuwait

Thamer affirmed during the meeting depth of the relations with the United Kingdom, adding that the two sides addressed informatio­n and expertise swap at the security level as well as matters related to joint training programs.

Later today, the minister met with the Qatari Ambassador Bandar Al-Atiah on the occasion of concluding his tenure. The outgoing envoy expressed gratitude to Kuwait for the warm hospitalit­y, good wishes to the country under the sagacious leadership of His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince. Qatar envoy lauded: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah praised on Tuesday efforts exerted by Qatari Ambassador Bandar bin Mohammad Al-Attiya in bolstering cooperatio­n and joint work between the two countries.

The remarks was made in a statement by Kuwait’s Army Chief of Staff office, after a meeting between the two officials.

The minister expressed best wishes for the ambassador due to ending his tenure in the country, adding best wishes and success for the State of Qatar. The meeting was attended by Ministry of Defence Acting Undersecre­tary Sheikh Fahad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah. (KUNA)

Girl drowns in pool:

A 4-year-old Kuwaiti girl drowned in the swimming pool in a chalet in Al-Khairan, reports AlSeyassah.

All attempts to revive the toddler at the Adan Hospital failed. She was declared dead upon arrival. A case has been registered at the area police station. Sources identified it is a pure case of negligence.

KCB expenses:

The latest statistics released by Kuwait Credit Bank (KCB) revealed that the expenses from June 6-10 reached KD7,420,349 dinars; while the number of loan payments transferre­d online totaled 1,251, reports Al-Anba daily.

The statistics indicated that 53 customers benefited from the ‘smart loan’ service through artificial intelligen­ce technology; and the number of customers who benefited from the service related to creating an account on the credit bank portal using the ‘My Identity’ applicatio­n of the Public Authority for Civil Informatio­n (PACI) reached 1,184. The bank implemente­d 690 engineerin­g statements, issued 118 decisions, responded to 258 inquiries through social media and received 1,037 calls through the call center.
