KPC to blacklist defaulting contractors

-

KUWAIT CITY, June 16: The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has formed a working group to prepare a unified blacklist at the level of the oil sector and is expected to be implemented by all the oil companies affiliated to it after getting approval by the concerned authority, reports Al-Anba daily quoting responsible oil sources.

The KPC disclosed the types and categories of works and materials will be unified in tenders and projects implemented by oil sector companies, in order to facilitate the floating and qualification of tenders and projects.

The sources stated preparing a unified black list of defaulting contractors in the oil sector would keep in check the failure of projects, as each oil company has what it called a ‘Questionable’ list in which contractors who fail to deliver on time or who breach their contractual obligations are included in the list in accordance with the policies and regulations of each contracting company.
