BEIRUT, June 17, (KUNA): The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer, inaugurated on Thursday the outpatient clinic building at the Children’s Cancer Center in Lebanon, which was restored with funding from the Society after the damage incurred due to the explosion of Beirut Port that occurred in August 2020.

The Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Lebanon, Abdel-Al Al-Qena’i and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Center Dr. Cesar Bassem participated in the opening ceremony.

In a statement to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Sayer stressed the keenness of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society to support humanitarian efforts that provide medical and health services in Lebanon, whether for citizens or residents.

Al-Sayer said that the association’s contribution to financing the building after the destruction caused by the explosion comes due to the great importance of the Children’s Cancer Center which treats children free of charge and provides them with quality health services.

On his part, Dr Basem told KUNA that “After a tour of the center’s departments and reviewing the progress of work, gifts were presented to sick children.”

A number of families praised Kuwait’s support for the center, which provides quality medical services. The delegation of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society, accompanied by Ambassador Al-Qena’i, inspected the works of renovating another new building belonging to the center, which is financed by Kuwaiti donations through the Red Crescent.
