Mechanism adopted for paper-based exams
KUWAIT CITY, June 17: The Ministry of Health, in coordination with the Ministry of Education, has adopted a mechanism to deal with confirmed and suspected COVID-19 cases among students, teachers and members of the exam committees during the paperbased examinations, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to informed sources, if there are any confirmed cases of COVID-19, they should not be allowed to enter the schools or be part of the examination committee. They will be allowed to return only after bringing a certificate of quarantine to show their commitment to it. When the quarantine period ends, students can attend to continue with their exams.
As for those with suspected symptoms of COVID-19, which will be determined by taking body temperature at three separate intervals, they will be barred from continuing with their duties in the committee or even entering the school.
The mechanism includes suspected cases of COVID-19 among individuals under quarantine, and those who came in contact with confirmed cases and individuals under quarantine after their return from travel. Teachers and workers who are under quarantine will also be prevented from entering the schools.
Those either confirmed or suspected of COVID-19 infection while under quarantine during the exam period will be allowed to exit to sit for their exams by requesting a permit on the Shlonak app. Special committees will be provided for this category to do the needful while adhering to health requirements. They will be allowed to return to the regular committees after presenting a certificate of ending the quarantine either in paper or electronic form.
