Gold stamp forgers held
KUWAIT CITY, June 17: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in cooperation with the Precious Metals Department of Ministry of Commerce and Industry has arrested arrest a gang of Asians which specialized in forging the gold stamp of the Ministry of Commerce, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to a statement issued by the the Directorate General of Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Interior Ministry investigations by securitymen confirmed the involvement of a number of gold shops in selling gold ornaments bearing forged stamps and during the raid it was found that a large quantity or gold ornaments were marked with forged seals from the Ministry of Commerce.
The CID men said the suspects were arrested and gold jewelry has been confiscated and referred to the Public Prosecution.
