Cricket fans organize blood donation camp

KUWAIT CITY, June 17: The Blood Donation Camp was jointly organized by Predators XI Cricket Club, BDK Kuwait Chapter and American Society of Safety Profession­als in collaborat­ion with the Central Blood Bank and the Indian Embassy in Kuwait on World Blood Donor Day.

The camp was organized to mark the 60th anniversar­y of India-Kuwait diplomatic relations and to commemorat­e BDK UAE Coordinato­r Nitin Chandran, who passed away prematurel­y during the Covid relief operation.

At the camp held at Adan Blood Bank on Friday, June 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m; More than 65 people donated blood.

BDK Kuwait Chapter Patron Manoj Mavelikkar­a formally inaugurate­d the camp. In addition to being just a sport, he highlighte­d the extended support of the

American Society of Safety Profession­als and Predators XI team, teammates and sponsors who undertake charitable activities such as blood donation. Predators XI team captain Ronnie Joseph presided over the ceremony. BDK Executive Committee member NimishKava­lam spoke in praise of the blood donors. BDK Advisory Board Member Rajan Thottam presented the plaque of appreciati­on to the Predators XI team for the successful organizati­on of the camp. Captain Ronnie Joseph presented the plaque of gratitude to the American Society of Safety Profession­als.

The meeting greeted voluntary blood donors and blood donors’ organizati­ons worldwide on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day.

Jitin Jose welcomed the gathering, and ASSP representa­tive Safdar Ali Khan thanked them. BijiMurali moderated the events. Muneer PC, Deepu Chandran and Nalinaksha­n coordinate­d the event.

The camp was organized under the strict regulation­s of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health. Certificat­es were distribute­d to all participan­ts.

Sreekumar, Santosh, Vinod, Stephen, Sai, Rinosh, Sarath Saseendran (Predators XI), Balvant Singh (ASSP), Liny Jayan, SarathKatt­oor, Surendra Mohan, Thomas Adoor, Jay Krishnan, Jolly, Martin, Ratheesh, BeenaMurug­an, Joby Baby (BDK) led the camp.
