KUWAIT CITY, June 20: The Ministry of Health continues its efforts to expand the vaccination campaigns to fight the Covid-19 pandemic by targeting various groups including domestic workers.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health (MoH) announced a few days ago that pregnant women and children in the age group 12 to 15 years should be added to the vaccination schedule while the MoH announced it will begin a campaign to vaccinate hundreds of domestic workers in addition to the rest of groups that have already been announced.

The health sources said the MoH has earned all praise for the efforts exerted by it to intensify the vaccination campaigns, increasing the number of vaccination centers, and harnessing all capabilities to increase the daily rate of vaccination in the range of between 35 and 45 thousand doses.

Until now the MoH has used about 3.1 million doses, or vaccinated 72.4 percent of the population, over a period of six months since the beginning of the vaccination campaign at the end of December 2020 until date.

The sources praised the efforts of those in charge of the national vaccination campaign, especially during the past few weeks, during which the number of those who have been vaccinated doubled dramatically, as the number of vaccines given from May 19 to June 19 was to about 1.5 million, representing 50 percent of the total vaccinations given.
