-

KUWAIT CITY, June 20: The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) will launch a special initiative titled “Abshir” for the elderly and people with special needs whose disability is classified as medium-severe, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to sources, this is the first initiative of its kind at the level of government agencies. Direct directives were received from the Minister of State for Housing Affairs and Urban Development Shaya Al-Shaya to empower them to obtain services and transactions at their homes through an electronic platform of their own.

The first stage of the initiative will focus on forming a team of employees to provide services and equip the platform to receive home visit requests with a pre-reservation system by the service applicant who personally determines the type of service and the day of the visit. Upon completion of booking the appointment and selecting the service, the required documents screen appears. The service applicant is provided with a hotline number for the aforementioned cases to inquire or reserve.

The sources affirmed that the services proposed to be provided during the first phase include opening or canceling a housing request, re-allocating housing, issuing a ownership document for plot, government house or apartment, rent payment transactions, online payment services, issuing “To Whom It May Concern” certificates (building permits) in addition to the allocation of housing project - a government house, an apartment, a plot of land belonging to those sold their house or a rented government residence.
