‘KNPC has made remarkable progress, especially in environmental fuel area’
KUWAIT CITY, June 20, (KUNA): The CEO of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), Hashem Hashem, said Saturday the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has made remarkable progress on the way to completing its major projects, especially in the area of environmental fuel despite the repercussions of the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic globally.
This came in a statement issued by the KNPC on the sidelines of the visit by Hashem Hashem and a number of members of the KPC Board of Directors to the Mina Abdullah Refinery, during which they were briefed on the great efforts exerted to operate the remaining units of the environmentally friendly fuel project at the refinery.
According to the statement, Hashem and his companions listened to the explanations given by a number of company officials about the steps taken towards the full operation of the project, the challenges and difficulties faced by the work teams during the implementation stages, and how .to overcome them by providing practical and innovative solutions.
For his part, the KNPC CEO, Walid Al-Badr, according to the statement praised the role of the
Kuwaiti workforce at the Mina Abdullah and Mina Al-Ahmadi refineries, stressing that their efforts are the cornerstone on which the company relies in implementing its projects and enhancing its role and company’s position.
Al-Badr pointed to the “huge” environmental fuel project, which is close to announcing its full operation, explaining that it constitutes a unique case of its kind globally, since it was accomplished in parallel with maintaining the continuation of the two refineries in performing their tasks without affecting the usual production rates.
