KUWAIT CITY, July 3: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Abdulaziz Shuaib, mourned with great sadness and sorrow, the death of Munira Khaled Al-Mutawa, one of the pioneers of volunteer work in the field of disability who was very active in serving the people with special needs, empowering them and improving their lives, reports Al-Rai daily.

Shuaib said in a statement, “Today Kuwait lost the ‘mother of the disabled’, who spare no efforts to embrace the less fortunate people with special needs and dedicated her life to their care. She was the symbol of giving and humanity.”

He added that the late Al-Mutawa spent her most precious time in volunteer work and played an unforgettable role in the establishment of the Kuwait Society for the Care of the Disabled in 1971 and the adoption of the first disability law in Kuwait in 1996.

He prayed to God to have mercy on her soul and accept her good deeds and reward her with the best reward.
