‘Technology Business City’, one of most prominent activities okayed

Bid to empower young people

KUWAIT CITY, July 3: The Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Youth, headed by the Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdul Rahman AlMutairi, has approved the projects and programs of the Youth Development Authority for fiscal (2021/2022) and its operational plan, reports AlSeyassah daily.

The Director-General of the Authority, Dr. Mishaal Al-Rabie, said in a press statement after the fourth meeting of the authority’s board of directors, which was held at its headquarters in Shuwaikh, that these programs and projects come in implementation of the national youth policy aimed at empowering young people and supporting them to take senior positions in all youth fields.

Al-Rabie explained one of the most prominent activities that have approved at the meeting was the Technology Business City project, which will create an attractive environment for small and medium enterprises projects for the youth in the field of technology and what it called ‘artificial intelligence’.

He added this big project, which will be built on an area of 13 square kilometers, will be in direct partnership with the Investment Promotion Authority, and will support the initiating youth in this important field so that the city becomes an incubator to enter the local and international markets.

He stated that the council also approved the establishment of a number of seasonal programs and keenness to involve the largest number of young people in them such as the (Youth Creativity League), (Professional Entrepreneur), (Work Makers), (Digital Library) and (Our Stadiums and Future Rulers).

Al-Rabie’ reported that a number of creative programs and projects have been approved, such , “Lens” program, “Voice of Youth” and “Broadcast Studio and Content Makers Incubator” projects, “Youth Valley”, “My Hobbies 3” and “Cultural Creativity Wheel”, saying the authority has support from all partners.
