Social media reports baseless rumors, says PAAAFR official
KUWAIT CITY, July 4: Spokesman for the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR), Talal Al-Daihani, said the authority has yet to distribute or allocate holdings, whether for agricultural plots, fish farms or animal rearing, calling what is published in the social media ‘baseless rumors’, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Al-Daihani added in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency, that PAAAFR has not yet carried out any distribution or allocation of holdings in implementation of the decision of its board of directors, which decided to stop granting any new agricultural holdings affiliated with the authority, until the end of the committee formed by the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Affairs Shaya Al-Shaya submits its report and propose a new clear and transparent regulation in the area of privatizing and enhancing productivity.
He stressed all what is being published in the social media about the distribution of fish farms or plots of land for fish breeding are baseless rumors.
He stated if the PAAAFR board of directors decides to distribute, it will be announced in the official bulletine and the media, and the distribution will be regulated in line with the applicable laws in force.
MoE collects dues: The Financial Sector in the Ministry of Education collected payments amounting to KD7 million from companies, institutions and individuals — a collection rate of around 70 to 80 percent for fiscal 2020/2021, reports Al-Rai daily quoting a reliable source.
In response to a parliamentary query on the collection of payments; the ministry explained that the problem with debt is it seems to be unending as once a loan is obtained, other loans will be taken. The ministry affirmed that the Financial Sector asked its legal counterpart to file lawsuits against delinquent debtors — companies, individuals and institutions.
