‘Sick leave fiddlers face law’
More than 30,000 Kuwaiti students, other Arabs in Egyptian universities
KUWAIT CITY, July 6: Head of the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Relations Office at the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Kuwait Dr Imad Hashish affirmed that the office provides various services to Kuwaitis who want to study in Egypt, indicating that it takes less than one minute to accredit high school certificates issued in the State of Kuwait, reports Al-Anba daily.
In an interview with the daily, Hashish said more than 30,000 Kuwaitis are currently studying in Egyptian universities; pointing out at the same time that a large number of Kuwaiti and other Arab students have enrolled in new private universities in Egypt, because the latter have achieved distinguished education and international partnership with American and British universities at competitive prices.
He stressed that the Kuwaiti student lives in Egypt among his family and friends and does not feel alienated. He added the ‘Study in Egypt’ platform, which is under the supervision of the Egyptian Ministry of
Higher Education, facilitates procedures for students who want to enroll in universities in Egypt. He revealed the platform gives students all the necessary information about the universities, colleges, courses offered, mechanism of study, and initial acceptance after uploading the documents until the final admission procedures are completed.
Asked about the reduction of Egyptian students’ grades through equivalency, Hashish clarified that the issue of equivalency is a law in the Supreme Council of Universities and it is applicable to some subjects taken outside Egypt.
He said the Coordination Office has its own calculations and formulas; while students have the right to apply for admission to public and private universities.
He then congratulated the high school graduates in the State of Kuwait who achieved the highest grades, wishing them and their families success in the next stage of their academic life.
