‘Reconnaissance’ announces appointment of prominent Taiwanese Scholar Dr Yang
KUWAIT CITY, July 6: Dr Alan Hao Yang is currently a distinguished professor at the graduate Institute of East Asian Studies at National Chengchi University (NCCU) and Deputy Director of NCCU’s Institute of International Relations (IIR). He also serves as the Executive Director of Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation (TAEF), one of the global best new think tank listed in the global go to think tank index since 2019.
Dr Yang is a specialist of Southeast Asian Studies with specific focus on Sino-Southeast Asian relations. He published a lot on issues of regional security and regionalism in the Indo-Pacific, the rise and fall of China’s Confucius institutes, the politics of resistance in the context of China-ASEAN relations.
Dr Yang has been engaging in track II diplomacy in Southeast Asia for more than a decade and in recent years he has been devoted in the deliberation and implementation of Taiwan’s New Southbound Policy. He is also affiliated with the Cush China Foundation as a senior fellow.
