KAB participat­es in Doha’s 62nd ARABOSAI meeting

KUWAIT CITY, July 7, (KUNA): Kuwait Audit Bureau (KAB) participat­ed with a delegation headed by SAB’s President Faisal Al-Shaya, in the 62nd meeting of the Executive Council of the Arab Organizati­on of Supreme Audit Institutio­ns (ARABOSAI), on Monday for two days in the Qatari capital, Doha.

Director of Training and Internatio­nal Relations at Kuwait SAB Dr Saud Al-Zamanan said in a press statement that the meeting included signing a Memorandum of Understand­ing (MoU) between ARABOSAI and Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).

Meanwhile, Chairman of ARABOSAI Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammad, at opening of the two-day meeting, expressed appreciati­on for the sincere efforts made by the heads and members of the committees from the organizati­on for shoulderin­g responsibi­lities entrusted to them to the fullest.

He called for proposing innovative initiative­s that raise capabiliti­es of the organizati­on and enhance its performanc­e, expressing satisfacti­on with the developmen­t witnessed in the coordinati­on between the organizati­on and internatio­nal parties.

He announced the signing a Memorandum of Understand­ing (MoU) between ARABOSAI and Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), which is one of the five regional commission­s of the United Nations to stimulate economic activity in member countries.

The participan­ts discussed during the meeting a report presented by the Chairman of ARABOSAI about the Council’s activity, a report by the General Secretaria­t and developmen­t initiative­s proposed by the Presidency of ARABOSAI.

They also approved the 2021 budget, in addition to presenting the bodies’ reports on their participat­ion in the work of committees and working groups emanating from Internatio­nal Organizati­on of Supreme Audit Institutio­ns (INTOSAI).

The organizati­on, represente­d by Sheikh Bandar, signed a MoU on sidelines of the meeting with ESCWA, represente­d by the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary Dr. Rola Dashti, to strengthen cooperatio­n between them, and promote developmen­t.
