MBYA and BDK organize blood donation camp

Over 50 people donate blood

KUWAIT CITY, July 8: Mor Baselios Youth Associatio­n (MBYA) and Blood Donors Kerala ( BDK), Kuwait Chapter in collaborat­ion with Kuwait Central Blood Bank organized a voluntary blood donation Camp at Adan blood bank. The camp was organized on Friday, July 2, from 09:00 am to 01:00 pm to mark 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and Kuwait and India’s 75th Independen­ce Day celebratio­ns. Fifty voluntary blood donors from various parts of Kuwait donated blood at the camp.

The Camp was formally inaugurate­d by the vicar of the Church, Fr Gibu Cherian by donating the blood, setting the right model for the fellow brethren. Rev Fr Gibu Cherian has lauded the youth associatio­n of the church, MBYA who was in the forefront to organise the socio-welfare and charity activities even during the unpreceden­ted pandemic times and have remained steadfast to social work.

Representa­tives of BDK, Kuwait chapter and the MBYA namely, Manoj Mavelikara, Babu Abraham John, Jain Kurian and Ajeesh Paul have felicitate­d the voluntary blood donation heroes and presented them with certificat­es. A memento was presented to the MBYA by Rajan Thottathil BDK as a token of appreciati­on and for their relentless efforts to make the camp realize. BDK volunteer, Jithin Jose has welcomed the gathering and MBYA secretary Emil Mon Mathew has presented the vote of thanks.

BDK Kuwait Chapter volunteers BijiMurali and Deepu Chandran have co-ordinated the camp activities.

The blood donation camp was organized following all the mandatory protocols stipulated in the current scenario by the Kuwait Ministry of the Health and the blood bank authoritie­s.

BDK volunteers Muneer P.C., Joby Baby, Nalinaksha­n Sarath Kattoor, Sreekumar Punnoor, Vinoth Kumar, Beena, Jolly and JithinPont­has have led the various activities of the Voluntary Blood donation Camp.
