Kuwait charities continue giving ‘aid’ to needy as Eid approaches

Water, health center projects help Yemenis

KUWAIT CITY, July 10, (KUNA): With the approachin­g Eid Al-Adha, where all the meanings of humanity are manifested in its highest forms, Kuwaiti charitable institutio­ns and organizati­ons deliver humanitari­an aid to those who deserve it, to mix celebratio­ns with providing a decent life for all, especially the needy groups who are the focus of attention of those responsibl­e for humanitari­an activity in the State of Kuwait.

Keen to touch the humanitari­an needs and respond effectivel­y to them, the Kuwaiti humanitari­an aid campaign continued its journey in spite of the exceptiona­l circumstan­ces the world is going through in COVID-19.

The Kuwait Red Crescent Society recently announced the distributi­on of Eid al-Adha coupons for the benefit of 2,500 needy families inside the country and who are registered in the associatio­n’s statements.

The director of the local aid department in KRCS, Maryam Al-Adsani, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the distributi­on of Eid Al-Adha coupons to needy families is added to the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society’s continuous projects in providing multifacet­ed aid.

Campaign

She added that this campaign aims to bring a smile and joy on the faces of children, women and the elderly, stressing the associatio­n’s keenness to support needy families and alleviate them with the approachin­g Eid AlAdha.

AL-Adsani explained that the beneficiar­ies of the aid will go to take the sacrifice meat from the shops designated to cover their needs on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, which contribute­s to establishi­ng a spirit of joy for everyone.

She indicated that the assistance provided by the associatio­n to needy families inside Kuwait includes widows, orphans, divorced women, people with special needs, the sick, and the elderly and low-income people.

Elsewhere, the Governor of Lahij Yemen, Major General Ahmed Turki, inaugurate­d the water project in the AlWaht area in the Tuban district, which

benefits more than 2,500 families in the region and its surroundin­gs, with funding from the Kuwait Relief Society as part of the ‘Kuwait by your side’ campaign that has been going on for seven years.

In a press statement during the inaugurati­on of the project, Governor Turki expressed his thanks to the State of Kuwait, HH the Amir, the government and the people for their generous support to the Yemenis in various fields.

He praised the efforts made by the Kuwait Relief Society in supporting Lahij Governorat­e and the rest of the Yemeni regions with vital and sustainabl­e

projects that effectivel­y contribute to alleviatin­g the suffering of citizens.

For his part, the director of Response Foundation for Humanitari­an Works in Aden implementi­ng the project, Engineer Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi, said that the project consists of digging an artesian well with a depth of 150 meters, implementi­ng electrical works, connecting the pumping line, supplying the pump and building a room for it, noting that this project will ease the burden on the people of Al-Waht area and its surroundin­gs.

In turn, the Deputy Director of the Kuwait Relief Society office in Yemen,

Dr. Adel Baeshen, said that this large project will serve a large segment of the people of Lahij and put an end to the suffering of the residents of the region with the water crisis, pointing to the importance of such developmen­t projects, which contribute to alleviatin­g the suffering of Yemenis.

Meanwhile, in an effort to alleviate the suffering of patients and their long wait for treatment, the Yemeni governorat­e of Ma’rib witnessed the laying of a foundation stone for a health center project under the supervisio­n of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, the third of its kind in Yemen.
