CAN launches skin cancer awareness campaign

KUWAIT CITY, July 12: Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Cancer Awareness Campaign (CAN) Dr Khaled Al-Saleh said a campaign has been launched to raise awareness about skin cancer, reports Al-Seyassah daily. In a press statement, on the sidelines of launching the campaign, AlSaleh called for the necessity of adopting methods to prevent skin cancer, especially during the summer, due to the damage caused by sunlight which causes skin to dry, heat stress, wrinkles, skin pigmentati­on and eye problems, in addition to the risk of skin cancer.

He said there are many types of skin cancers, such as basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma, which is the most dangerous of these cancers.
