During a symposium on ‘Integrity in the Education and Health Sector’ organized by the College of Allied Medical Sciences at Kuwait University in cooperation with Nazaha on Monday, Buzbar stressed the need for clear rules and regulations and transparent procedures regarding the allocation, distribution and use of educational resources.
He pointed to the need to set standards and functional and ethical codes of conduct for the teaching profession, in addition to the governance of financial procedures, work procedures, regulations and internal policies for employees, and improving the skills of resource management, control and auditing.
He called for the necessity of activating the law on the right to access information, clarity of data and reports, transparency of procurement and award contracts, and the adoption of practical strategies for developing and building leaders and supervisors that include the highest standards of evaluation of integrity, transparency, accountability, justice and non-conflict of interests.
He pointed out that there are recommendations by Transparency International for health institutions represented in creating a policy to confront corruption in the health sector and finding ways and mechanisms that can be applied in a manner chosen by health authorities and practicing integrity in policies and activities related to health practices. with the high summer temperatures, to protect lives and property and in the best interest of everyone.

He stated that the recommendations also include expanding the circle of contacts between health authorities with a view to accessing the data of other institutions to know their purchasing policy to create a sense of responsibility and not to exceed the permissible limits for employees.
For her part, the Dean of the College of Allied Medical Sciences, Dr. Suad Al-Fadhli, said during the symposium that the aim of holding the symposium is to enhance integrity and fight corruption in all sectors of the state, affirm commitment and maximize the culture of combating scientific and practical corruption in the academic and health sector, which represents a shared responsibility among all members of society.
Al-Fadhli pointed out that the students of Kuwait University have the responsibility to consolidate this strategy to have a principle in their scientific and practical life, as well as for members of the teaching staff, pointing out that one of the manifestations of breach of the academic honor code is academic cheating of all kinds.
She indicated that the health professions are considered one of the morally high professions that depend on their values, humanity and conscientiousness in dealing with patients and their families and with their colleagues from the medical staff.
