KAC direct flights to US expected in August
KUWAIT CITY, July 14: The Kuwait Airways Company (KAC) is in the process of making final arrangements to operate the Kuwait-New York route again, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources.
The sources expect the route to be operational in August or September at the latest. The sources said the process of operating direct flights to New York requires security approvals from the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
It should be noted that the US authorities responsible for the airports of the United States of America require security matters before operating direct flights to US airports and are concerned with precautionary measures and security measures.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior has handed over to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) the lists of the names of those entitled to receive the reward for the COVID-19 frontliners who worked during the curfew period set by the Council of Ministers, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources.
They explained that the lists were handed to CSC for review based on the regulations. They will then be referred to the Ministry of Finance to disburse the amounts.
The entity’s implementation of the controls contained in Cabinet’s Resolution No. 686 will be reviewed. It will then be referred to the Ministry of Finance to take measures to transfer the amounts. After that, the entity will be addressed with a pledge form and the need to implement the requirements contained in the law.
Meanwhile, informed government sources revealed that the Ministry of Defense is in the process of finalizing the lists of its employees who are COVID-19 front-liners.
They revealed that the lists will include ten percent of employees from each sector of the army, adding that the reward will be disbursed with the salaries of August, if not before.
