MoI, Commerce & Municipality organize campaigns with MEW
MEW issues 115 citations in 3 months
KUWAIT CITY, July 17: The Deputy Judicial Enforcement Team at the Ministry of Electricity and Water and member of the Eviction of Bachelors from Model Areas Committee, Ahmed Al-Shimmari, announced 115 citations were issued in 3 months — May, June and July — and stressed the team will continue its campaigns to eliminate all violations and infringements on the electricity and water networks, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
This is done, he said, in full coordination with the other concerned authorities, especially the Ministry of Interior and the Kuwait Municipality and the NEW’s distribution networks sector.
Al-Shimmari told Al-Seyassah daily that the team carried out a joint campaign, in cooperation with the General Traffic Department of the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Commerce inside the Shuwaikh Industrial Area to monitor violations.
He explained the these campaigns achieve continuous success in cooperation with other parties to monitor dozens of violations of all types of housing, especially the industrial plots and the extensions therein, which pose a threat to the network and the safety of the facilities themselves and their workers.
Al-Shimmari said the most prominent violations are changing the sizes of fuses and power connection without a meter, tampering with supply network through random extensions that cause faults and fires in the network.
He added the campaigns are continuing in cooperation with the concerned authorities.
Housing
The Municipal Council earlier this month, in its regular session headed by Osama Al-Otaibi, the allocation of five sites in the Shuaiba port within the Ahmadi Governorate to establish housing complexes for expatriate workers in implementation of the decision of the Council of Ministers.
In other news, the council also approved the adoption and unification of the numbering of the Sabah Al Ahmad Marine City and the request of the Ministry of Electricity and Water to allocate a site for the construction of a new power generation and water distillation plant within the Nuwaiseeb area (the expansion of the Nuwaiseeb station).
The council also approved the request of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs to allocate a mosque and car parks in the agricultural area of Al-Wafra plot 7 (the agricultural holding 116) and to allocate a mosque and car parks in plot 1.
The Council also approved the request of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to find an alternative location for the Sharq Industrial plots, in addition to approving the allocation of the land of the neighboring state for the Al Mulla Tower project for the construction of the Mirqab parking building, Block No. 3. The Council approved the request submitted by the Institute of Banking Studies regarding approval of Renting parts of the building allocated to them in the Qibla area, Block 14.
