KUWAIT CITY, Sept 6, (KUNA): The General Administra­tion of Civil Aviation announced that Tuesday, has been set as the date for operating and resuming commercial flights between Kuwait and India. Direct Kuwait-India flights from today

The observer of the Air Transport Department at (Civil Aviation), Raed Al-Taher, said in a press statement today, that flights will resume at five flights per day according to the number of seats that have been determined between the two countries, which is in line with the Kuwaiti Cabinet’s recent decision to increase the capacity of Kuwait Internatio­nal Airport.

Al-Taher explained that the first of these flights will arrive at 6 am, stressing the need to adhere to the health requiremen­ts for entering Kuwait, which were set by the health authoritie­s in order to avoid any obstacles or reasons for preventing those coming to Kuwait from entering and returning them to their countries of origin.

Kuwait’s Cabinet decided on Monday to allow sports fans back into stadiums with the start of the 2021-2022 season.

The Center for Government Communicat­ion said on Twitter that only vaccinated fans would be given access to stadiums.

Guidelines

It added that fans would be allowed to use only 30 percent of stadium capacity, emphasizin­g that health guidelines should be followed during games and training.

The Cabinet held its weekly meeting this afternoon at Seif Palace under the chairmansh­ip of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister.

After the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah stated the following:

At the outset of its work, the Cabinet reviewed the contents of the meeting held by His Highness the Prime Minister in the presence of a number of ministers and leaders in government agencies last Thursday at Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center under the title (Kuwait Beyond the Pandemic), where His Highness reviewed the government’s efforts during the Corona pandemic in addition to His Highness explaining the government’s plan and work program, the major developmen­t and entertainm­ent projects being implemente­d, the future vision of the projects to be implemente­d, as well as the responsibi­lities and tasks assigned to the state’s leaders in the next stage.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah expressed, on his own behalf and on behalf of his sister and brothers, the ministers, their deep thanks and appreciati­on for the initiative of His Highness the Prime Minister to meet and communicat­e with his fellow leaders in government agencies, which came within the framework of His Highness the Prime Minister’s keenness to provide advice and directions the advice characteri­zed by frankness and firmness, highlighti­ng the deficienci­es and ways to address them, and working hard to follow up and implement the government’s work program and develop government services to achieve aspiration­s of citizens in order to advance developmen­t and achieve the desired goal through the desired reform.

Within the framework of implementi­ng the contents of the speech of His Highness the Prime Minister, the Council decided the following: Assigning the ministers to follow up on the leaders of their affiliated entities to develop an executive action plan for each leader according to a specific timetable.

Then the Cabinet listened to an explanatio­n given by the Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basil Hammoud Al-Sabah on the latest developmen­ts related to the health situation in the country, based on the latest statistics that show the continued decline in the number of daily infections to reach 0.6 percent and the recovery rate to reach 98.9 percent, praise be to God. In light of which, a number of Covid wards were closed in hospitals.

In this regard, the Cabinet expressed its reassuranc­e about the continuati­on of the positive health indicators that the country is witnessing, noting that the improvemen­t in the epidemiolo­gical situation with the Corona pandemic in the State of

Kuwait requires the continuati­on of everyone’s cooperatio­n and work as a team to preserve the positive indicators that have been reached and not to be lenient in the applicatio­n of health requiremen­ts to prevent the spread of any strains A new mutated, until this epidemic is besieged and eliminated.

On the other hand, the Cabinet was informed of the recommenda­tion of the Public Services Committee regarding the results of the two coordinati­on meetings between the Minister of Public Works and the Minister of State for Communicat­ions and Informatio­n Technology Affairs and leaders of each of the following government agencies (Ministry of Interior - Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Public Works - Kuwait Municipali­ty Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport) regarding determinin­g the appropriat­e future destinatio­n for the uses of the Derwazat Al-Abdul Razzaq Tunnel and the surroundin­g area, and the results and recommenda­tions that resulted from it.

The Council of Ministers decided to assign the Ministry of Public Works, in coordinati­on with Kuwait University and the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, to study (the constructi­on condition of the Derwazat Al-Abdul Razzaq Tunnel and to indicate the extent to which the intersecti­on can be reopened for vehicles urgently and safely - an indication of the faults in the Derwazat Al-Abdul Razzaq Tunnel and to take measures to radically repair it) and provide the Council of Ministers with the outcome of the matter within a month from its date.

He also decided to assign the Kuwait Municipali­ty to coordinate with the Ministry of Finance to expedite the receipt of Derwazat Al-Abdul Razzaq Tunnel and to secure the necessary financial funds to move forward with the measures to be taken to address the existing conditions in the Derwazat Al-Abdul Razzaq Tunnel and the area around it in a radical way.

Then the Council of Ministers reviewed the committee’s recommenda­tion regarding the establishm­ent of recreation­al activities in the agricultur­al areas of Al-Wafra and Abdali, and the Council of Ministers decided to assign the Public Authority for Agricultur­e and Fisheries Affairs in coordinati­on with the (Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Kuwait Municipali­ty, the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprise­s Developmen­t, the Tourism Projects

Company and the entities that It deems appropriat­e) to develop appropriat­e scenarios regarding allowing the establishm­ent of some recreation­al activities in the agricultur­al areas of Al-Wafra and Abdali, and examine the possibilit­y of involving the private sector and public benefit associatio­ns to contribute to achieving the desired goals in this regard, and to contribute to providing an attractive environmen­t for the visitors of the two mentioned areas, and to provide the Council of Ministers with the outcome of the matter, during two weeks from its date.

The Cabinet also discussed the committee’s recommenda­tion regarding the proposal to establish a unified government communicat­ion unit (Wasel), and the Cabinet decided to approve the proposal of the Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Communicat­ions and Informatio­n Technology Affairs regarding the establishm­ent of a unified government communicat­ion unit (Wasel), which will contribute to unifying and coordinati­ng the efforts of government communicat­ion service centers Upgrading the services provided to all citizens and residents and assigning the minister to coordinate with the relevant authoritie­s to take all appropriat­e measures to ensure the speedy realizatio­n of the proposal.

The Council of Ministers discussed the affairs of the National Assembly and reviewed in this regard the letter of His Excellency the Speaker of the National Assembly to which the interpella­tion submitted on 1/9/2021 from Member Fayez Ghannam Al Jamhour to the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing and Urban Developmen­t, which will be included on the agenda of the first session in pursuant to the provisions of Article (135) of the bylaws of the National Assembly, and he reviewed the axes mentioned in the questionin­g paper.

The Council of Ministers affirmed that interpella­tion is a constituti­onal right for a member of the National Assembly. It also affirmed its confidence in the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Developmen­t, and dealing with interrogat­ion in accordance with the provisions of the Constituti­on, the National Assembly’s internal regulation­s, and the provisions of the Constituti­onal Court in this regard.

The Cabinet commended the athletes Ahmed Naga Al-Mutairi for winning the silver medal in the 100-meter run, and the hero Faisal Sorour for the bronze medal in the men’s shot put competitio­n at the 2020 Paralympic Games currently being held in Tokyo.
