KUWAIT CITY:
Once again, the issue of the pardon for those who live in exile in Turkey has come to the fore, but this time it appears there is a possibility of positive results since this thorny file has continued to be the bone of contention among the concerned parties, who had been fighting a kind of tug-of-war and refusing to throw in the towel, reports AlRai daily.
Sources told the daily this issue which has political, health and economical inclination is critical and requires concerted efforts, not antagonism.
The sources went on to say ‘arranging pardon’ has become a necessity before the Parliament reconvenes at the end of October, and so that the next session does not face the same fate – the game of ‘musical chair’ but give the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled a lifeline in the face of political challenges over the next period.
KUWAIT CITY: The Ministry of Finance might be restructured as there have been talks on separating certain sectors like budget, investment and subsidiaries, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.
Sources hinted on the possibility of separating the investment sector such that it will be transformed into an independent ministry in charge of investment agencies managing State funds like the Public Institution for Social Security, Kuwait Investment Authority, Direct Investment Promotion Authority, Partnership Projects Authority, Technical Authority for Privatization and the Central Bank of Kuwait.
